Theassaydependsuponthebindingofratglycatedalbumininstandardorsampletospeciallytreatedmicrotiterwells.Boundanalyteisdetectedwithananti-ratalbuminantibody-HRPconjugate.Afterafinalwash,boundconjugateisdetectedusingachromogenicsubstrate(TMB)forperoxidase,andcolorintensityisdirectlyporportionaltoglycatedalbuminconcentration.Typicalglycatedalbuminvaluesliebetween0.1and0.6mg/dL,abutnormalvaluesmayvarywithdifferentstranisofrats.
